The Calgary Microsoft User Group (CMUG) is an independent, community-led organization that brings together IT professionals, developers, consultants, students, and technology enthusiasts from Calgary and the surrounding area.

Led by local Microsoft MVPs and community contributors, the group provides an informal environment for learning about Microsoft technologies, sharing practical experience, meeting industry peers, and exploring third-party solutions that complement the Microsoft ecosystem.

What we cover

We are intentionally broad rather than limited to a single product. Our programming has evolved from traditional infrastructure, Windows, System Center, and Microsoft 365 topics to include:

• Azure and hybrid cloud
• Endpoint management and security
• Cybersecurity and Microsoft Defender
• Automation and productivity tooling
• GitHub Copilot and agentic AI

How we meet

Sessions are informal and practical, mixing live demonstrations, open discussion, experimentation, and professional networking. We meet both online and in person around Calgary, and we welcome participants at every experience level.
